3 June 2016 - Press Announcement, Business Day

Gert Viljoen, founder and executive director of Kirkham Ventures, announced this week in Cape Town that the company will officially be changing its name to Bree Street Capital (BSC) as of 01 June 2016. The decision follows a partial buyout by management of shares from the original capital providers, Kirkham Capital. Kirkham Capital will continue to be associated with Bree Street Capital as a minority shareholder. Iain Catterall, CEO of Kirkham Capital: "This has been a productive first seed investment for Kirkham Ventures and it has been particularly rewarding to watch the team mature into a self sustaining and profitable business. We look forward, as shareholders, to playing a role in Bree Street Capital’s growth in the future."

Viljoen stated that the company is appreciative of Kirkham Capital's support since inception of the business and looks forward to their ongoing involvement in Bree Street Capital. Viljoen explained that the new name would reflect the genesis, the evolving focus and core business of the company, adding, "that the company has grown into a meaningful financial services player in the South African corporate debt capital markets. In conjunction with our strategy to become a more diversified financial services business, we have been pursuing the development of a strong corporate identity that will more accurately represent our company and its products & services to our clients and prospects. While our company name is changing, all core elements of the business will remain the same - over the years we have distinguished ourselves by our independence, track record and quality service delivery and look forward to this new, exciting phase in the development of the company." Along with the name change, the company adopted a new corporate identity, including a new logo and visual identity. The changes are effective immediately, and all future business activity will be undertaken with the new name.
